Absence of paramedical at PHC Bandipora irks locals; ‘Fordged attendance maintained’

BANDIPORA | FEB 11 (PTK): The absence of paramedical staff at Primary health Centre (PHC) has caused inconvenience to the locals Baharabad village of north Kashmirs Bandipora district.

The residents said that the staff remains absent most of times form the duty due to which the locals are forced to move to Bandipora town in emergencies. Locals allege that a fake attendance register has been maintained in the health center.

Locals said that a FMPHW nurse Saika is posted at PHC who remains absent and is said to be in Jammu since past month and the attendance register show her present on duty.
When PTK reporter visited the PHC and asked for the register from other staff posted at PHC, the register clearly shown the nurse present, however she was not physically present.

When the reporter asked the staff why they maintain fake register, the in-charge of PHC said that he is being forced to show Saika present which was recorded in hidden camera.
Interestingly when Block Medical Officer (BMO) Hajin was informed who later on visited the PHC and found absent this nurse namely Saika but no action was taken till time.
Locals said that they are facing lot of problems in terms of medical emergencies and BMO Hajain shielding the staff especially FMPHW Saika because of political influence.

Locals of the area have appealed to the higher authorities to take a stern action against the erring employees otherwise they we will be forced to lock this health center.
