Ganderbal: Mohammad Saleem Pathan, a distinguished coach and martial artist from Pathan Chowk, Gutlibagh area of Ganderbal, is making waves in the world of Sqay Martial Arts.At 40 years of age, Pathan has become a symbol of dedication, discipline, and excellence in the sport, both on and off the mat.Holding an impressive 11th Dan Black Belt, Pathan has won numerous prestigious titles, including six International Masters Cup championships and two Asian Gold Medals.His remarkable achievements also include 12 National Gold Medals and a National Silver Medal. Besides, he has got All India Best Referee awards 7 times.However, Pathan’s greatest contribution to the sport has been his role as a mentor. Over the years, he has trained nearly 800 students free of cost, empowering them with skills in Sqay Martial Arts.His efforts have led to fourteen of his students representing India at Asian and international events, with 256 others reaching the national level.Currently, Mohammad Saleem Pathan is coaching 60 students, both boys and girls, in Ganderbal, continuing his mission to promote the sport and provide quality training at no cost.His dedication to the development of martial arts in his community has earned him admiration from all corners.
