2 drug peddlers arrested in Baramulla: Police

Srinagar: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday have arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substance from their possession. “A police party of Police Station Boniyar headed by SHO PS Boniyar at a checkpoint established near Govt. Degree College Boniyar intercepted 02 persons identified as Manzoor Ahmad Bhat son of Habibullah resident of Bagna Salamabad & Mubashir Ahmad Khan son of Atta Mohammad Khan resident of Girdnawah Nowshera,” a police spokesman said in a statement issued .During the search, 48 grams of contraband charas like substance was recovered from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to Police Station Boniyar where they remain in custody, police said.Accordingly, police said that a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Boniyar and investigation has been initiated.“We urge the common masses that if you witness drug peddling or any other crime anywhere near you, feel free to contact nearest police establishment or dial 112. People are requested to cooperate with police in curbing the menace of drugs from the society. We reassure the community members that police will act tough against the criminals as per law,” police said—(KNO)
