Independence Day: Amy, police hold multi agency security review exercise in Jammu

Jammu: Ahead of Independence Day, security forces convened multi- agency meetings to finalize the arrangements for further fortification of the security apparatus in Jammu region, which recently saw a rise in terror incidents.

Officials told that the meetings focused on reviewing and fortifying the security arrangements in Jammu besides taking inputs on various combing operations going on in various parts of Jammu

“Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Jammu Zone, Anand Jain, IPS, convened a high-level meeting with officials from CAPF, Intelligence agencies, Police, Security wing, and Civil administration. The meeting focused on reviewing and fortifying the security arrangements in Jammu district,” an official said.

“He added that focused on fortifying security in Jammu district, the meeting saw inputs from CAPF, Intelligence agencies, Police, Security wing, & Civil administration,” police in a social media post informed.

“Key points discussed included inter-agency cooperation, Border Security, & countering drone threats. Emphasis was on maintaining high alertness for a peaceful celebration and ongoing Amarnath Ji Yatra,”

Meanwhile, the Army conducted a Multi- Agency Security Table Top Exercise at Samba Military Station to review the security situation in Jammu, Samba and Kathua region.

Defence spokesperson Lt Col Suneel Bartwal said that the conference was attended by all stakeholders from security forces and intelligence agencies.

“The security agencies brainstormed and deliberated on various probable security scenarios and instituted measures to employ the full spectrum of counter terror capabilities in a synergised manner. The successful conduct of this joint exercise demonstrates the commitment of all agencies to ensure safety and security in the Jammu region,” he added—(KNO)
