Kupwara: Based on specific information by BSF and further corroborated by SSP Kupwara regarding transshipment of Armn/Amn & Explosive by an OGW, a joint check point was established at Reddi Chowkibal market by BSF, Army & JKP. During search a OGW namely Shabir Ahmad S/o Ghulam Din r/o Gujar Basti, Ladriwam (Kupwara) was apprehended and following Arms/Amn & Explosive were recovered from his possession :-
1. Pistol – 01
2. Pistol Mag – 01
3. Pistol Rounds – 10
4. Hand Grenade – 04
5. IED – 02
It is reliably learnt that the terrorists were planning to use these stores to carryout terrorist activities during forth coming Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra in Srinagar and surrounding areas. This operation has delivered a major blow to the nefarious designs of PoJK based terrorist groups who have always aspired to disturb the peace and tranquility in Kashmir Valley.
