Ganderbal: The administration on Saturday said that better arrangements for the celebration of Mela Kheer Bhawani will be ensured this year.

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Vijay Kumar Bidhuri visited Kheer Bhawani Temple Tulamulla to inspect and finalize the arrangements for the smooth conduct of the annual Mela Kheer Bhawani.

While talking to reporters on the occasion, Bidhuri said that ahead of the celebration of the Mela Kheer Bhawani on June 14, the arrangements and other related things will be started from June 12.

However, he said that the administration is making elaborate arrangements this year to ensure better facilities and smooth celebration on June 14.

“The Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo have chaired meetings in this regard. We will ensure better arrangements this year for the occasion,” Bidhuri said, adding that not only the Kashmir Pandit, but the people from the local community also visit here on the occasion.

At the outset, Div Com chaired a comprehensive meeting attended by Relief and Rehabilitation Commissioner, Arvind Karwani; Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir; SSP Ganderbal, Sandeep Gupta; SSP Rural Traffic; Director Disaster Management; Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal; Chief Engineer R&B Central Kashmir; SE KPDCL Ganderbal, Executive Engineers of various engineering wings; DIO Ganderbal; and other district and sectoral officers.

During the meeting, Div Com reviewed the security arrangements, accommodation facilities, traffic management, medical facilities, langer facility, parking areas, sanitation measures, Fire and Emergency, and availability of power and water supply.

He stressed the importance of ensuring all necessary facilities are provided to devotees for performing religious rituals—(KNO)
