SRINAGAR: Saying that if Indian rulers and their ‘stooges’ really believe in democracy they should shun their policies of coercion and allowing resistance camp to hold peaceful rallies Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) reiterated  Public Jalsa on 15th December at Lal chowk Islamabad. It is a litmus test for the claimants of democracy, the JRL said in a statement issued here.
Reiterating the call for a peaceful public Jalsa at Lal Chowk Islamabad on 15th December 2017, JRL leaders said that though Indian state and its abettors in Jammu Kashmir have put almost all the leadership either in jails or under house arrest, but despite these oppressive tactics and use of police and military might, JRL will try its best to hold peaceful Public Jalsa on the day at the venue already announced.
JRL leaders said that forcing silence of a graveyard by using military might and designating it as peace can only be termed as foolishness and if Indian rulers and their abettors really believe in democracy and freedom of speech, they should stop their oppressive tactics and allow JRL to hold this peaceful Jalsa.
JRL leaders said a fascist government in power, inspired by Joseph Gobbles’ malicious propaganda techniques or Harold Lasswell’s “magic bullet theory” by trying to paint the brutal pacification of Kashmir as peace and return of normalcy. If Indian rulers assume that oppression unleashed by their army and forces has crushed resistance in Kashmir, then they should find some courage to lift ban on political activities of the resistance camp and allow such programs.
Leaders said that any rational person would find talk of normalcy and peace in occupied territory as laughable especially when Kashmir is witnessing an increasing build up in oppression, particularly in southern districts of Kashmir valley and when surveillance state pervades every nook and corner of Kashmir, the discourse of normalcy and peace can only be promoted by the colonial forces and their proxies in Kashmir.
