SRINAGAR : Residents of Dodhi Mohalla in Mendhar Sub division of Poonch district is without water supply from last two month, forcing locals to fetch water from wells.
The residents of Dodhi Mohalla in Salki Madain village, which comprises of 40 households, said that from last two month there is no water-supply in the area.
“The water to our village was being supplied from Chote Shah area of Sakhi Madian but since then we are without drinking water facility. Our women have to walk in this harsh winter to fetch water from wells and streams,” said a local elder.
While lashing out at politicians, the residents added that they come to their village only at the time of elections. “First they come, seek votes in the name of providing basic civic facilities but after winning polls, they disappear till next elections. The politicians simply betray poor masses,” the locals lamented. (PTK)
