Budgam : IG Border Security Force (BSF) Kashmir Frontier, Ashok Yadav, on Wednesday said the forces stationed at borders are vigilant and prepared to thwart any intrusion.
Yadav, said this while participating in the yoga session held on International Yoga Day at the BSF headquarters here in this central Kashmir district.
On the occasion, the IG BSF said, “We train our jawans to practice yoga and meditation every day so they can carry out their duties with physical fitness and mental alertness. Our jawans who are deployed in difficult and snow-covered borders continue to perform their duties without much travel or physical activity.”
He said stopping infiltration is important and crucial. “BSF jawans on the Line of Control (LoC) carry out the area domination and patrolling in such a way that no infiltration takes place,” he said, adding, “As the snow starts melting, some patches become vulnerable and to tackle that situation, we do vulnerable mapping so that if there is any intrusion, we will thwart it.”
He further said the Border Security Force obtains information from various intelligence agencies about the launching pads and covers those routes which are generally used for infiltration by plant ambushes so as to thwart those attempts.
On Amarnath Yatra, the IG BSF said, “It is an important occasion in Kashmir where all security forces work in unison to ensure that the yatris from various states carry out the pilgrimage in a smooth and peaceful manner.”
More BSF companies will be sent for the yatra duty assigned by the Jammu & Kashmir Police, he said—(KNO)
