‘City set to host ‘Fan Park’ to telecast CSK-GT big clash on Sunday’
Jammu : This Indian Premier League (IPL) finals would be special for the cricket enthusiasts and fans as the city of temples—Jammu—is all set to host Fan Park on Sunday, May 28 to bring craziness of cricket fans at doorsteps with live hooting, shouting and whistling, when Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will takes on Gujarat Titans (GT) in the final of the cash rich league.
this first of its kind event in the city of temples will be held at Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government PG College for Women, Gandhi Nagar Jammu ground where stadium like stands has been created and a big screen installed to broadcast the finals live form 3.30 pm onwards.
Manager Cricket Operations, BCCI representative, Amit Siddheshwar, who is here in the town for the ‘Fan Park’ event flanked by JKCA officials, informed that live broadcast of finals will bring lively experience for the fans.
“Fan Parks are ready to take over the IPL fever across the country, 45 cities including Jammu chosen to host the match,” he said, adding, “Cricket connects and ‘Fan Parks’ like events witnessing whistles, cheering, face painting, shoutouts, crazy stunts, is all about the fans and with every breath-taking moment captured on the giant screens, the venue will broadcast the LIVE action giving the stadium like feel to the fans.”
He revealed that the entry is absolutely free for the visitors and the fun and excitement will be doubled up with music, merchandise, food stalls, beverages and sonic fun activations by WL’s official sponsors.
The BCCI officials informed that idea behind hosting such events is to encourage people, who do not have facilities loaded stadiums able to host IPL events or many who cannot visit the venue to witness the match.
“Apart from providing an experience of watching the final of IPL on a giant screen, it will also have fun frolics and eateries.
The event will be a great opportunity for the youth and other cricket lovers of Jammu and nearby places to watch and enjoy the final of IPL in a festival-like atmosphere,” said Siddheshwar.
Jammu was specifically already in the mind of the BCCI for two reasons. Firstly, the domestic players are doing great at the IPL level and cricket is seeing new heights in Jammu,” he said and added that once the base is created, for which the process is already in progress, Jammu will definitely witness an IPL match live—(KNO)
