Notorious drug peddler, OGW booked under PSA in Poonc

Poonch : Authorities in Poonch said to have booked notorious drug peddler and an Over Ground Worker (OGW) under Public Safety Act on Friday.

In an official statement, Poonch police said that a man identified as Nizam Din, son of Gulab Din of village Bagyaldara of Tehsil Haveli in Poonch has been booked under Public Safety Act by the order of Deputy Commissioner Poonch (Competent Authority) and various FIRs are already registered against him under NDPS Act and other sections of law.

The accused was indulged in anti-national activities and was working as an active guide, facilitator for militant organisations and was actively involved in providing logistics support to the militant outfit, said police.

Keeping in view the activities of the accused as he poses threat to the security of the state and under these circumstances he was ordered to be detained under Public Safety Act, police said.

“Finally today in compliance with the directions by Deputy Commissioner Poonch in Public Safety Act detention warrant was executed and the said accused has been lodged in District Jail Poonch under Public Safety Act, police stated—(KNO)
