Budgam : The residents of the Soibugh area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district have alleged that the administration has abandoned the construction of a two-storey school building which has become a safe haven for drug addicts.
The residents told that the building has been under construction since 2016 and the administration is not completing it.
Ghulam Hassan Beigh, a local resident, said, “A tender for the Government High School was issued in 2016 and the work was quickly started on it. While everyone was happy about sending their children to this school, it is not being completed.”
Now, many youngsters are taking advantage of its non-completion and are consuming drugs there, Beigh alleged.
Another local Ali Muhammad said that most people avoid coming across the building after 5 pm due to the fear of drug addicts.
“We approached the concerned authorities several times to complete the construction, but nothing was done in this regard,” Ali said.
