Delhi News Live Updates, March 31, 2023: A Delhi court Friday dismissed the bail application of AAP leader and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia in the excise policy case investigated by the CBI. The CBI had arrested Sisodia on February 26 in connection with its probe into alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the now-scrapped liquor policy for 2021-22.

Meanwhile, soon after the Gujarat High Court set aside a CIC order to furnish the degree certificate of Prime Minister Narendra Modi under the Right to Information Act (RTI), Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal took to Twitter questioning the same. He wrote, “Doesn’t the country even have the right to know how much their PM has read? He vehemently opposed showing the degree in the court. Why? And those who demand to see their degree will be fined? What is this happening? Illiterate or less educated PM is very dangerous for the country.” The Court has further imposed Rs 25,000 on the Delhi CM.

In other news, asserting that the Delhi government was prepared to fight the surge in Covid cases, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal Friday said: “We request patients with Severe Acute Respiratory Infections (SARI) and Influenza-Like Illness (ILI) to mask up, though there has been no mandate from the Centre to this regard so far. At present, we are conducting genome sequencing of all Covid cases that are being detected. 7,986 beds have been set aside for Covid, including oxygen, ICU and ventilator beds.”
