BANDIPORA: The residents of Naidkhai Sonawari area of north Kashmir’s Bandipora district have urged the authorities to upgrade the Public Health Centre (PHC) Naidkhai to Community Health Centre (CHC) so that the staff strength of the hospital is increased and adequate health facilities are made available at the hospital for the convenience of patients.
Locals said that the PHC Naidkhai is catering to a huge area comprising dozens of villages.Locals also demanded appointment of a Pharmacist so that, patients are not referred to Sumbal hospital.
They have also urged the hospital authorities to make the operation theatre fully functional so that people are largely benefitted at the hospital.
They said that the upgradation of the centre would ensure increase in staff strength besides better healthcare facilities to the people.
Despite spending crores of rupees on this health institution, the services here are far from satisfactory. It seems that there is none in the Health Department to take care of this important PHC a local told media.

When contacted Block Medical Officer Hajin Dr Ajaz Ahmed said, its basically designated health and wellness center,and we have project to upgradation of CHC, now locals demand upgrade PHC to CHC center “People have made reprisentations for upgrading PCH to CHC in Block Divas , some posts are vacant in PCH Naidkhai, and we have made internal arrangements.” , now we are trying to fill up the Vacant and so that patients not suffer more and more problems.
But we have some formalities in this regard when we have completed all formalities then we will forward the file to the higher authorities,he said۔
