Srinagar, Aug 28 (KNO): Former Minister Taj Mohiuddin and former MLA Shoiab Nabi Lone are likely to join yet-to-be launched political party of former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad.
Sources told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that Taj, who had represented Uri assembly segment twice, would unveil his future plans today. “He will address a press conference today at 4:30 pm at his Gupkar residence,” they said.
Taj won 2002 and 2008 election from Uri assembly segment and was minister in both the PDP-Congress and NC-Congress coalitions.
In the last assembly election, he stood at third position from Uri segment with Muhammad Shafi Uri defeating Raja Aijaz Ali.
According to sources, former MLA Shoiab Nabi Lone is also in talks with loyalists of Ghulam Nabi Azad.
“He may also join Azad-led camp,” they said.
Banking on sympathy wave after assassination of his father, Shoiab won 2006 by-election from Sangrama assembly segment but lost 2008 and 2014 elections to Syed Basharat Bukhari.
In 2020, he lost the DDC election to Irfan Hafiz Lone from his native area—(KNO)
