SRINAGAR : Three militants were killed in an encounter that broke out between militants and security forces in Tral area of Pulwama district in South Kashmir on Saturday.

Forces launched a cordon and search operation in Gulab Bagh area of Tral in Pulwama after receiving specific inputs about presence of militants there.

The three militants killed in a gunfight with forces have been identified as Zahid Ahmed Bhat from Nawdal Tral, Ishfaq Ahmed from Batgund Tral and Ashraf Dar from Trich Pulwama,

Reports of clashes have also reached from Gulab Bagh and Tral areas as well. Authorities have snapped internet services in the district and the encounter is still underway.
