Says were involved in recent non local labourers killing, multiple grenade attacks
Srinagar : Three militants affliated with outfit Lashkar-i-Toiba were arrested on monday who were involved in recent attacks on non-local labourers as well involved in multiple grenade attack in North Kashmir’s Sopore, officials said.
In a statement, the officials said that on 02 May based on a specific input regarding movement of three militants from general area Sopore to Srinagar. The movement was appreciated to be in the late hours of 02 May 22 and accordingly joint MVCPs of 29 RR & JKP were placed along the appreciated route and bylanes to nab the militants.
On 02 May 22 night three individuals were observed moving suspiciously along the orchards in general area Haigam and the lookout party alerted the joint MVCP. The security forces challenged the individuals, however, they fled towards the orchards in the general area. The MVCP chased the three individuals and the security forces deployed along the appreciated escape routes nabbed them. The individuals were identified by spokesman asTafheem reyaz S/o Riyaz Ahmad mir R/o Usman Abad Warpora, Seerat Shabaz Mir S/o Mohammad Shahbaz Mir R/o Brath Kalan Sopore and Rameez Ahmed Khan s/o Gh Mohammad Khan r/o Mirpora Brathkalan.
The search of the individuals led to the recovery of three chinese pistols and ammunition and incriminating materials, he said.
The successful apprehension of the militants has evaded major militant plots and busted the module responsible for various recent attacks and planned execution of PRI and non local labourers. Further interrogation of the apprehended is likely to give further inputs which might result in successful counter militant operations in near future, reads the statement.
