Srinagar 30 Apr (KDC): Locals across Kashmir division on Saturday complained that mPay application and Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs) of J&K Bank in their areas have been defunct since morning.
Reports reaching to news agency Kashmir Dot Com said that scores of customers complained of defunct mPay operations and non-functional ATMs ahead Eid ul Fitr.
The customers alleged that it has become a new normal that mPay like applications get often defunct ahead of festivals like Eid-ul-Fitr, leading to huge inconvenience to people.
“At least three ATMs in our area have stopped functioning since morning on the eve of the Eid ul Fitr, which is leaving us to face a plethora of problems,” a local resident Mehreen from Natipora told KDC.
“I went to three ATMs of J&K Bank to withdraw cash, but all of them are out of function. People of the area are suffering as they have left cashless and cannot buy anything,” she alleged.
Another local, Mohammad Ashraf from Badshah Nagar, while ruing about the non-functioning of the ATMs said that he had gone to a couple of adjacent areas but had come across defunct ATMs, which Ashraf termed a miserable failure of J&K Bank.
Meanwhile the same reports were received from different areas of several districts of Kashmir where people have been facing failure of ATMs and mPay.
The traders and customers across Kashmir appealed to bank authorities to intervene into the matter and restore the services at the earliest. (KDC)
