Delimitation Commission meeting: NC MPs await response of its letter to panel

Masoodi expects response by tomorrow, says will decide on participation accordingly

Srinagar : With the delimitation commission set to hold a meeting next Monday in New Delhi, the associate members of the panel from National Conference (NC) are still awaiting the response to their letter to take a final call about their participation.

Pertinently, the NC’s Members of Parliament Hassnain Masoodi and Muhammad Akbar Lone had sent a letter to the panel, seeking agenda or the meeting to be held at Hotel Ashoka, where from the commission is functioning.

Masoodi said Correspondent that the party MPs are awaiting the response over the letter sent to the commission. “The has not responded to our letter yet. We have not received any information about the agenda for the meeting,” he said.

However, the MP from South Kashmir said that they are expecting a response by tomorrow, saying that “we hope that the commission would share some details about the meeting to be held on December 20. We will decide our participation only after the letter sent by MPs is responded to.”

Nonetheless, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its participation in the meeting. Union Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), Dr. Jitendra Singh has reportedly stated that the party will participate in the meeting and will cooperate with the commission.

Notably, the commission is scheduled to hold its second meeting with the associate members. Earlier, the meeting was held on February 18 this year—(KNO)
