Won’t move from here unless ADC is suspended or transferred: Bar Members
Handwara : Over forty members of Bar Association Handwara have assembled for a nightlong sit-in before Additional Deputy Commissioner office here, demanding an immediate suspension or transfer of the middle-rung district officer over allegations of ‘ill-approach’ towards people from legal fraternity and general public.
Reports reaching that the Association members have decided to undergo an indefinite strike until ‘the ADC is either suspended or transferred from the area.’
The numbers only swelled as more members poured in to join their colleagues for the nightlong sit-in arranged by the association.
Talking to GNS, an association member Advocate Riyaz Ahmad Shiekh said that that they have decided to go for an indefinite strike. “He (ADC) has been highly discourteous and has resorted to an ill-approach towards the association members and general public alike, he said adding despite efforts made by everyone to make him understand the things understand about the difficulties faced out of his stubbornness, he however has been continuing with his uncalled for attitude.”
“We even overlooked the things that actually mattered for us, but it has turned out to be a mundane affair as the officer is not ready in any way to listen to grievances of the members or even the public”, he alleged adding However this time around, we have decided to put up a strong face against him as to make the administration act against him because the things are getting badly just because of his obstinate mental behavior.”
He reiterated that the strike will go on until the officer is either ‘suspended or transferred’ from the area. (GNS)
