Srinagar : A DDC member from Rafiabad joined Apni Party hours after calling it as “B-team of Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP)”.
In a tweet last night, Parmeet Kour, who had won DDC polls last year on Peoples Conference ticket, called Apni Party as “B-team of BJP” and said that some vested interests are spreading rumours that she will join the Apni Party. But she joined Apni Party this morning in presence of its top leaders including Altaf Bukhari, Ghulam Hassan Mir and others.
The tweet was deleted by her after joining Apni Party in presence of its top leaders including Altaf Bukhari, Ghulam Hassan Mir, Muhammad Dilawar Mir and others. But it was widely shared on social media with NC’s district president and former minister Javed Ahmad Dar, remarking “whom to believe.”
When contacted, a senior PC leader, wishing not to be named, said this wouldn’t have any impact on the party in Rafiabad. “What can we do if some non-political person gets excited by these things after being rejected by people in polls? People of Rafiabad taught them a lesson during DDC polls by outrightly rejecting them,” he said.
In the DDC polls, National Conference and Peoples Conference won one seat each from Rafiabad Assembly segment.
When contacted, Apni Party leader Yawar Mir refused to comment on the matter.
“You should ask this question to the person who has tweeted this,” he said—(KNO)
