Will ensure COVID SoPs are followed in spirit, black-marketers to face action: SMC Commissioner
Srinagar : Ahead of the Muslim festival, Eid-ul-Adha, the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has directed all the departments to ensure adequate facilities to the people on eve of ‘ Eid-ul-Adha’.
Addressing a presser, SMC Commissioner Athar Amir told reporters that the Jal Shakti department was directed to ensure adequate water supply to the consumers across Srinagar while the Power Development Department (PDD) officials were asked to ensure adequate electricity to the people.
He said that the authorities will ensure that waste of sacrificial animals are not thrown in water bodies and in open roads, adding that it will also ensure that the Covid Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed in letter and spirit on the eve of the holy festival.
SMC Commissioner said that strict action will be taken against those who will be found involved in black-marketing. “We will ensure that the people will not suffer due to black-marketing and over charging of essential commodities ahead of the Eid,” he said, saying that this was decided in a meeting today—(KNO)
