COVID-19: J&K reports 11 deaths, 448 positive cases

27th case of Mucormycosis confirmed 313,476; death toll mounts to 4,284, active cases decrease to 6,537, recovery rate at 96.54 percent

Srinagar : The Jammu and Kashmir Union territory on Thursday witnessed 11 deaths due to Covid-19 while as 448 fresh positive cases were also reported, taking the number of total active cases in the UT to 6,537.

With 11 more deaths the death toll in the UT has reached to 4,284 and 448 fresh positive cases reported on Thursday has pushed the tally of positive cases to 313,476

Of the exact number of 313,476 cases, 194,628 are from Kashmir division and 118,848 from Jammu division. Officials told that among 448 new cases, 265 belong to Kashmir division while as 183 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 194,628 including 188,404 recoveries and 2,197 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 118,848 including 114,251 recoveries and 2,087 deaths.

The officials said that the total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 6,537 including 4,027 from Kashmir division and 2,510 from Jammu division.

With 682 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 302,655 which is 96,54 percent of the total cases.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 95 from Srinagar, 32 from Baramulla, 18 from Budgam, 30 from Pulwama, 17 from Kupwara, 36 from Anantnag, 15 from Bandipora, 14 from Ganderbal, 06 from Kulgam and 02 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 183 from Jammu division include 22 from Jammu, 13 from Udhampur, 19 from Rajouri, 23 from Doda, 08 from Kathua, 05 from Samba, 23 from Kishtwar, 11 from Poonch, 12 from Ramban and 47 from Reasi,” officials disclosed

Meanwhile, authorities on Thursday said that that one fresh case of Mucormycosis popularly known as black fungus was reported in the UT and toll of total cases of Mucormycosis has reached to 27.

Out of 11 deaths reported today, 02 died in GMC Doda, 01 in GMC Rajouri, 01 in MH Akhnoor, 01 in MH Satwari, 01 in SMGS Jammu, 01 in CHC Mendhar, 01 in SKIMS Soura, 01 in SMHS Sgr, 01 in SKIMS JVC Bemina & 01 in GMC Baramulla.

As per officials figures, 69,524 positive cases including 824 deaths and 67,561 recoveries are from Srinagar, 23,116 including 277 deaths and 22,341 recoveries are from Baramulla, 22,415 including 21,708 recoveries and 202 deaths are from Budgam, 14,777 including 14,226 recoveries and 188 deaths are from Pulwama, 13,649 including 161 deaths and 13,043 recoveries are from Kupwara, 15,936 including 15,362 recoveries and 198 deaths are from Anantnag, 9,217 cases including 8,904 and 99 deaths are from Bandipora, 9,505 including 9,224 recoveries and 76 deaths are from Ganderbal, 10,947 including 10,573 recoveries and 114 deaths are from Kulgam and 5,542 including 5,462 recoveries and 58 deaths are from Shopian.

In Jammu division, 52,317 including 50,461 recoveries and 1,130 deaths are from Jammu district, 11,117 including 10,875 recoveries and 131 deaths are from Udhampur, 10,636 including 10,185 recoveries and 217 deaths are from Rajouri, 6,716 including 5,965 recoveries and 110 deaths are from Doda, 9,176 including 8,970 recoveries and 149 deaths are from Kathua, 7,049 including 6,857 recoveries and 118 deaths are from Samba, 4,381 including 4,213 recoveries and 41 deaths are from Kishtwar, 6,028 including 5,672 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Poonch, 5,771 including 5,579 recoveries and 61 deaths are from Ramban and 5,657 including 5,474 recoveries and 42 deaths are from Reasi.

As per the daily information bulletin 2,353,939 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 25,971 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 6,537 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 2,110,650 persons have completed surveillance period and 206,497 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 9,679,738 samples are available. Out of 9,679,738 the number of samples tested negative stands at 9,366,262 while as 313,476 have tested positive, among them 6,537 persons are active, 302,655 persons have recovered and 4,284 persons have died—(KNO)
