Uri : Joint Forces arrested three persons allegedly involved in drug trafficking from North Kashmir’s bordering town of Uri Baramulla.
A police officer while confirming the arrest of trio along with drugs said that more arrests are expected in this regard.
“Besides drugs, cash, arms and ammunition have also been recovered from the trio,” the police officer told that complete details will be shared with the media after the completion of investigation.
The arrests were made by Joint Forces including soldiers from 53 Battalion, Special Operation Group and CRPF.
The arrested trio believed to be over ground workers are from North Kashmir’s Kupwara and Baramulla districts.
They have been identified as Shrafat Khan and Sajad Shah from Kupwara and Shahid Rather from Tangmarg Baramulla.
Besides 5 packets of contraband, cash worth 3 lakh, 5 grenades, 2 pistols, 10 bullets and 2 magazines have been recovered from the possession of these three persons.
Police in this regard have registered a case and set investigation into motion. (KNT)
