Srinagar : Forest Department officials have seized at least thirty feet of illicit timber in two separate places in Khag area of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.
Officials told that that Forester Mohammad Ashraf Mir with assistance of his sub-ordinates seized twenty-five feet timber from a private vehicle number with number plate at Dadoora Khag. The accused involved in the act has been identified as Nazir Ahmed Lone.
A case into the recovery is under process, they said.
In a similar action, a department team seized at least five feet of timber loaded on a horse belonging to one Habibullah Khan, a resident of Shuplian Khag. The accused however escaped the spot, they said.
An FIR number 47/21 under section 379 IPC, 33 Forest Act in this regard has been registered at Police Station Khag, they further said.(GNS)
