Introducing themselves as policemen, a group of three burglars carrying ‘toy’ guns and pistol entered into a room occupied by Bihari labourers at Rangpora Illahibagh on the night of April 26 last month. The house is owned by Bashir Ahmed Dar who told news agency CNS that the burglars disguising as cops lined up all the labourers for verification purpose.
“They directed frightened labourers to handover their cell phones and cash. The burglars took away 13 costly mobile phones and Rs 27000. They asked these labourers to visit the police station next morning and collect these cell-phones and cash from there,” Dar said and added that they are not policemen but militants.
He said before this incident, a number of theft cases were reported from the same area.
