Mehbooba VP, Sajad spokesman; Flag of erstwhile State of J&K to be symbol of alliance, all-party convention on Nov 17

Srinagar: The Peoples Alliance for Gupkar Declaration (PAGD) on Saturday unanimously appointed National Conference president and three-time Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah as its president, while Peoples Democratic Party president Mehbooba Mufti and Peoples Conference chief Sajad Gani Lone will respectively be its vice-president and spokesman of the powerful combination.he organizational structural of the conglomerate was formalized after two hours of meetings between allies of the conglomerate at former CM Mehbooba Mufti’s residence.
The meeting of the group started at around 02:30 PM and culminated at around 04:30 PM. Talking to the media persons after the culmination of the meeting, Sajad Lone, who has been appointed as spokesperson of the group, announced that Farooq Abdullah has been appointed as president of the group while Mehbooba Mufti will be its vice -president.
He added that M Y Tarigami has been appointed as convener of PAGD while Hassnain Masoodi will be its coordinator.
Sajad informed that the flag of erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir State will be the symbol of the group. He said that the next meeting of the group will be held in Jammu within two weeks.
He added that the group has decided to come up with a document on lies being spread to slander people of Jammu and Kashmir.
“The white paper will be a tribute to the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said, adding that the whitepaper will compare the reality and false propaganda being spread against the people and leadership of J&K,
He also said that the group is going to hold its first convention on November 17.
Tarigami, who has been appointed as Convener of the alliance told KNO that “a group has been constituted consisting of myself, Sajad Gani Lone, Muzaffar Ahmad Shah and Davinder Singh Raina and has been tasked to prepare a report.”
He added that the four members of the group will talk to different sections of the society including traders, employees, tourism players, hoteliers and others.
“After holding deliberations with them, a report card will be prepared in which all the lies and facts on the ground will be brought to the fore. He said the report card will be prepared in one month.
Meanwhile, Muzaffar Ahmad Shah, who is also the part of the four member group, told KNO that it was decided that an all-party convention will be held on 17th November.
About the meeting in Jammu, Tarigami said that the leaders of the alliance will be holding deliberations with different sections of the society including the mainstream leaders in Jammu.
Meanwhile, soon after the meeting concluded, Farooq Abdullah while talking to the media persons said that it is being propagated that the alliance is anti-national. “The group is not anti-national, but anti-BJP,” he said.
He said the BJP has tried to divide people and are making attempts to break the federal structure of the country, but it won’t succeed. “We have forged an alliance to fight against all these issues and it is not a religious fight but the fight for the identity of the nation,” he said.
