Total cases 86,057, death toll mounts to 1,358; recovery rate over 87 percent in UT

Srinagar : Jammu and Kashmir Thursday recorded six Covid-19 related deaths taking the death toll to 1358 in the Union Territory while as 648 positive cases were reported pushing the J&K tally to 86,057.
Of the total 86,057 cases, 51,563 are from Kashmir and 34,494 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 648 new cases, 380 belong to Kashmir division while as 268 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 51,563 including 45,366 recoveries and 913 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 34,494 including 30,275 recoveries and 445 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 9,058 including 5,284 from Kashmir division and 3,774 from Jammu division.
With 1,323 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 75,641 which is 87.89 percent of the total cases.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 182 from Srinagar, 39 from Budgam, 32 from Baramulla, 35 from Pulwama, 19 from Kupwara, 17 from Anantnag, 22 from Bandipora, 29 from Ganderbal, 04 from Kulgam and 01 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 268 from Jammu division include 120 from Jammu, 17 from Rajouri, 10 from Udhampur, 21 from Doda, 15 from Kuthua, 23 from Poonch, 11 from Samba, 41 from Kishtiwar, 06 from Ramban and 04 from Reasi,” officials disclosed.
Notably, in the last 24 hours, six persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include four from Kashmir division and two from Jammu division.
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include two from Srinagar and one each from Baramulla and Pulwama in Kashmir division while as two deaths from Jammu division include two from Jammu district.
As per officials figures, 17,246 positive cases including 327 deaths and 15,129 recoveries are from Srinagar, 5,554 including 90 deaths and 4,880 recoveries are from Budgam, 5,065 including 3,634 recoveries and 133 deaths are from Baramulla, 4,351 including 4,011 recoveries and 75 deaths are from Pulwama, 3,986 including 70 deaths and 3,679 recoveries are from Kupwara, 3,860 including 3,471 recoveries and 70 deaths are from Anantnag, 3,774 cases including 3,403 and 42 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,254 including 2,955 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,361 including 2,236 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,112 including 1,968 recoveries and 33 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 15,750 including 14,312 recoveries and 232 deaths are from Jammu district, 3,074 including 2,621 recoveries and 45 deaths are from Rajouri, 2,547 including 2,361 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Udhampur, 2,443 including 2,011 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Doda, 2,304 including 2,211 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Kuthua, 2,070 including 1,392 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,034 including 1,612 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Samba, 1,629 including 1,421 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Kishtwar, 1,477 including 1,371 recoveries and 11 deaths are from Ramban and 1,166 including 963 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Reasi.
As per the daily information bulletin, 621,450 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 24,518 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 9,058 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 536,408 persons have completed surveillance period and 50,108 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,929,126 samples are available.
Out of 1,929,126 the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,843,069 while 86,057 have tested positive, among them 9,058 are active, 75,618 persons have recovered and 1,358 persons have died—(KNO)
