Ganderbal: The residents of Chattergul village of Central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district are up in arms against the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) for failing to macadamize Kachnambal to Chattergul road stretch, which according to them is in dilapidated condition.
Inhabitants as per the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) complained against the PMGSY Ganderbal for not maintaining the condition of the roads, which has developed potholes, thus taking heavy toll on commuters.
The residents said that the dilapidated condition of the road often became the reason for delay for ambulance drivers to ferry patients on time upto the hospitals for treatment.
Rafiq Ahmad, a resident, told KNO that the main road from Kachnambal to Chattergul is in shambles. “Not only the main road but the link roads too are in dilapidated condition,” he added.
“In past several accidents have occurred in this area due to the potholed condition of the road,” he said.
The residents later appealed the concerned authorities to macadamize the road at an earliest—(KNO)
