Baramulla : An inter cluster district level U19 cricket competition for boys of district Baramulla was started at BHSS Delina. The two matches were scheduled for today.
On the occasion of inaugural match Qazi Syed Sajad senior Lecturer (HSS Delina) was the chief guest. He inaugurated the event. In his address he laid stress on such events to mitigate the stress currently caused by COVID 19. He said that academics and sports are the two sides of the same coin. He wished good luck to all the participants.
The tournament is being held with strict adherence to SOPs and guidelines related to covid19. The inauguration match was played between Sopore vs. Hadipora. Toss won by Sopore and decided to bat first and set the target of 124/5 runs in 15 overs. Awafat played an excellent knock and scored 55 runs.
In its turn Hadipora got good start but at the end they failed to chase the target and lost the match by 3 runs. Man of the match was declared Awafat for his 55 runs. Prominent among those present during inaugural ceremony was Mr. Peer Bahudin (Chief Selector), Mr. Sameer Ahmad PEL (Convener) , Mr. Manzoor Baba (selector), Bilal Ah Sofi, Md Maqbool, Mushtaq Ahmad, Sajad Ahmad, Naseer Ahmad and other ReKs officials.

The second match was played between Kunzar vs. Boniyar. Toss won by Kunzer and decided to bat first and set the target of 143/7 runs. Murtaza Hilal was the top scorer and scored 62 runs. In reply Boniyar failed to chase the target and lost the match by 5 runs. Murtaza Hilal declared man of the match. Winner : Cluster Kunzer
