Total cases 68,614, death toll 1084; 1,549 more recover in UT

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Thursday recorded 1,104 fresh cases of Covid-19 taking the tally of positive cases to 68,614 in the Union Territory. The J&K UT also recorded 22 fresh deaths, taking the death toll to 1,084.
Of the total 68,614 cases, 43,142 are from Kashmir and 25,472 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 1,104 new cases, 480 belong to Kashmir division while as 624 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 43,142 including 34,084 recoveries and 801 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 25,472 including 139,95 recoveries and 283 deaths.
The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 19,451 including 8,257 from Kashmir division and 11,194 from Jammu division.
With 1,549 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 48,079 which is 70.07 percent of the total cases and was over 78 percent over two weeks back.
“Cases tested positive in J&K include 194 from Srinagar, 49 from Budgam, 72 from Baramulla, 33 from Pulwama, 24 from Anantnag, 20 from Bandipora, 42 from Kupwara, 28 from Ganderbal, 11 from Kulgam and 07 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 624 from Jammu division include 242 from Jammu, 49 from Rajouri, 49 from Udhampur, 36 from Kathua, 54 from Doda, 37 from Samba, 44 from Poonch, 38 from Ramban, 36 from Reasi and 39 from Kishtiwar,” officials disclosed.
Notably, in the last 24 hours, 22 persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died which include eight from Kashmir division and 14 from Jammu division.
As per media bulletin, patients who have died include five from Srinagar and three from Baramula in Kashmir division while as 16 from Jammu division include eight from Jammu district, two each from Rajouri, Kuthua and Samba
As per officials figures, 13,800 positive cases including 277 deaths and 11,401 recoveries are from Srinagar, 4,595 including 80 deaths and 3,028 recoveries are from Budgam, 4,105 including 2,781 recoveries and 121 deaths are from Baramulla, 3,708 including 3,137 recoveries and 64 deaths are from Pulwama, 3,380 including 62 deaths and 2,906 recoveries are from Anantnag, 3,374 including 2,491 recoveries and 34 deaths are from Bandipora, 3,346 cases including 2,456 and 64 deaths are from Kupwara, 2,740 including 2,103 recoveries and 26 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,224 including 2,044 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Kulgam and 1,970 including 1,737 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Shopian.
In Jammu division, 11,147 including 6,375 recoveries and 154 deaths are from Jammu district, 2,357 including 1007 recoveries and 30 deaths are from Rajouri, 1,988 including 1,491 recoveries and 10 deaths are from Udhampur, 1,854 including 1,206 recoveries and 19 deaths are from Kathua, 1,958 including 714 recoveries and 24 deaths are from Doda, 1,576 including 727 recoveries and 18 deaths are from Samba, 1,555 including 643 recoveries and 09 deaths are from Poonch, 1,209 including 778 recoveries and 08 deaths are from Ramban, 831 including 520 recoveries and 05 deaths are from Reasi and 997 including 534 recoveries and 06 deaths are from Kishtwar.
As per the daily information bulletin, 558,098 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 15,800 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 19,451 persons are in isolation.
According to the bulletin, 467,177 persons have completed surveillance period and 54,586 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 1,487,962 samples are available.
Out of 1,487,962 the number of samples tested negative stands at 1,419,348 while 68,614 have tested positive, among them 19,451 are active, 48,079 persons have recovered and 1084 persons have died—(KNO)
