SRINAGAR: An Army Jawan posted along the Line of Control (LoC) died in an accidental fire from his service weapon in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Official told news gathering agency that a Jawan deputed on a forward post along the LoC in Mendhar sector of Poonch district received bullet wounds due to accidental fire around 2150 hours last night. He adds that the jawan identified as Sepoy Manmohan Budhani (23) later succumbed to injuries.

Reports said that he was in the army for two years and is survived by mother Vidhya Bukhari. Budhani belonged to village Awalakot Kota Bagh in Nainital district of Uttarakhand.
