Srinagar : The Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has acted on a number of illegal constructions including public complaints made against violators in the city.
In a statement to KNT, the SMC claimed that from past 15 days over 100 illegal structures were demolished in Hamdania colony Bemina, Hyderpora , Sanat nagar, Raawalpora, Soura , Lal Bazaar , Zakura, Khanyaar, Batamaloo, Chanpora , Padshahi Bagh, Mehjoor Nagar and other areas.
The SMC officials have also stopped work of all those structures at a very initial stage which had deviations in sanctioned building plans and the structures coming up without permission.
The unauthorized constructions were both commercial and residential in nature.
Commissioner SMC Mr Gazanfar Ali has strictly directed the enforcement wing to act promptly in getting the illegal structures demolished on spot where ever found.
“I make a fervent appeal to the citizens of Srinagar who aim to construct residential or commercial establishments to apply for proper building permissions from Competent Authority and not to take law in their hands,” Commissioner SMC said. (KNT)
