COVID-19: 67 travelers among 535 fresh cases; J&K, tally mounts to 37,698

Recovery rate over 76 percent in UT

Srinagar : Jammu and Kashmir on Monday reported 535 fresh cases of Covid-19 pandemic including 67 travelers taking the total number of positive cases to 37,698 in the Union Territory.

Of the total 37,698 cases, 28,917 are from Kashmir and 8,781 from Jammu division. Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), among 535 new cases, 290 belong to Kashmir division while as 245 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 28,917 including 22,492 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 8,781 including 6,523 recoveries and 66 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7,980 including 5,788 from Kashmir division and 2,192 from Jammu division.

With 505 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 29,015 which is 76.96 percent of the total cases.

Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 9,273 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 8,781.

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 90 from Srinagar, 16 from Baramulla, 52 from Pulwama, 25 from Budgam, 18 from Anantnag, 38 from Bandipora, 19 from Kupwara, 07 from Kulgam, 07 from Shopian and 18 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 245 from Jammu division include 139 from Jammu, 13 from Rajouri, 33 from Kuthua, 27 from Udhampur, 06 from Samba, 01 from Ramban, 09 from Doda, 03 from Poonch, 06 from Reasi and 08 from Kishtiwar,” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 9,273 positive cases including 221 deaths and 7,480 recoveries are from Srinagar, 2,826 including 100 deaths and 2,206 recoveries are from Baramulla, 2,643 including 2,120 recoveries and 49 deaths are from Pulwama, 2,507  including 1,779 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Budgam, 2,332 including 50 deaths and 1,765 recoveries are from Anantnag, 2,180 including 1,447 recoveries and 25 deaths are from Bandipora, 2,094 cases including 1,468  and 48 deaths are from Kupwara, 1,925 including 1,699 recoveries and 35 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,704 including 1,557 recoveries and 28 deaths are from Bandipora and 1,433 including 971 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ganderbal.

In Jammu division, 3,288 including 2,035 recoveries and 44 deaths are from Jammu district, 901 including 769 recoveries and 05 deaths are from Rajouri, 904 including 693 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Kuthua, 837 including 681 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Udhampur, 712 including 537 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Samba, 654 including 634 recoveries and 01 death are from Ramban, 424 including 339 recoveries and 04 deaths are from Doda, 416  including 325 recoveries and 04 deaths are from Poonch, 395 including 325 recoveries are from Reasi and 250 including 185 recoveries and 01 death are from Kishtwar.

As per the daily information bulletin, 461,461 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 45,562 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 7,980 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 362,046 persons have completed surveillance period and 45,170 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 966,412 samples are available.

Out of 966,412 the number of samples tested negative stands at 928,714 while 37,698 have tested positive, among them 7,980 are active and 29,015 persons have recovered—(KNO)
