DM Ganderbal inspects implementation of lockdown measures at various places
Ganderbal : The authorities on Saturday re-imposed lockdown restrictions in central Kashmir’s Ganderbal district for a week in view of surge in COVID-19 cases from the last few days in the district.
An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that the lockdown restrictions were re-imposed till September 05 in the district.
He said that the district magistrate, Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal today visited various areas of the district to monitor the implementation of lockdown as ordered in the district.
“ADM Ganderbal, Farooq Ahmad Baba, tehsildar and other concerned officers also accompanied him.”
He said that during the visit the DM gave a slew of directions for adherence to all relevant guidelines and directed for strict compliance of restrictions as ordered in the district.
“During the visit several shops were seized which were open besides various pedestrians who were without masks were also fined.”
The official said that while inspecting medical shops, the DM exhorted for keeping sanitizers available at the medical stores and directed them that no person shall be allowed to enter into the store without masks.
“Similarly, petrol pump owners were also asked to keep sanitizers available at every dispenser besides petrol/diesel shall not be given to persons without masks.”
The DM asked the police authorities to allow only emergency vehicles after proper verification and fine all such person who are without masks—(KNO)
