COVID-19: 55 travelers among 422 fresh cases, J&K tally mounts to 28892

Recovery rate over 73 percent in UT

Srinagar : Jammu and Kashmir today reported 422 fresh cases of Covid-19 pandemic including 55 travelers, taking the total number of positive cases in the Union Territory to 28,892. Of the total 28,892 cases, 22,434 are from Kashmir and 6,458 from Jammu division.

Officials told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that  among 422 new cases, 341 belong to Kashmir division while as 81 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 22,434 including 16,465 recoveries while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 6,458 including 4,831 recoveries and 41 deaths.

The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 7,048 including 5,462 from Kashmir division and 1,586 from Jammu division.

With 353 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached 21,296  which is 73.70 percent of the total cases.

Pertinently, Srinagar district alone has 6,960 positive cases which is more than the total number of positive cases in Jammu division where total cases are 6,458

“Cases tested positive in J&K include 48 from Srinagar, 09 from Baramulla, 42 from Pulwama, 40 from Budgam, 43 from Anantnag, 15 from Kulgam, 06 from Shopian, 46 from Kupwara, 49 from Bandipora and 43 from Ganderbal in Kashmir division while as 82 from Jammu division include 40 from Jammu, 02 from Rajouri, 11 from Kuthua, 10 from Samba, 06 from Doda, 01 from Poonch and 11 from Reasi” officials disclosed.

As per officials figures, 6,960 positive cases including 174 deaths and 5,151 recoveries are from Srinagar, 2,438 including 88 deaths and 1,745 recoveries are from Baramulla, 2,095 including 1,595 recoveries and 40 deaths are from Pulwama,1,828 including 1,276 recoveries and 41 deaths are from Budgam, 1,815 including 39 deaths and 1,423 recoveries are from Anantnag, 1,712 including 1,484 recoveries and 31 deaths are from Kulgam, 1,576 cases including 1,448 and 25 deaths are from Shopian, 1,571  including 1,123 recoveries and 33 deaths are from Kupwara, 1,476 including 745 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Bandipora and 963 including 475 recoveries and 14 deaths are from Ganderbal.

In Jammu division, 2,005 including 1,219 recoveries and 29 deaths are from Jammu district, 788 including 664 recoveries and 03 deaths are from Rajouri, 674 including 560 recoveries and 01 death are from Kuthua, 649 including 551 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Udhampur, 624 including 594 recoveries and 01 death are from Ramban, 577 including 413 recoveries and 01 death are from Samba, 343 including 299 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Doda, 329 including 242 recoveries and 02 deaths are from Poonch, 288 including 126 recoveries are from Reasi and 181 including 163 recoveries are from Kishtwar.

As per the daily information bulletin, 415,725 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 41,728 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 7,048 persons are in isolation.

According to the bulletin, 320,606 persons have completed surveillance period and 45,785 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 801,329 samples are available.

Out of 801,329 the number of samples tested negative stands at 772,437 while 28,892;have been tested positive, among them 7,048 are active and 21,296 persons have recovered—(KNO)
