Srinagar : At least five people, who have returned from Pakistan on July 10 and are presently under quarantine at a hotel in Srinagar, said that they have individually paid around Rs 10,000 for the food and accommodation, but their swab results are yet to come even after passing of six days.
The aggrieved family members of the people under quarantine at a hotel in Srinagar, said that at least a group of 10 individuals had returned from Pakistan on July 10 and put under quarantine and were made to pay for their stay and food among which five have already been allowed to go home while the remaining five are still awaiting for their swab results.
Talking to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the family members said that their relations have paid Rs 10,000 from their own pockets in the past six days since their arrival from Pakistan on July 10.
Showkat Ahmad, a resident of Sopore whose relative is under quarantine, said that there is an unjustified delay in releasing the swab results of the five people who are so desperate to go home. “Don’t know if the other five walked home after their swab results were declared on time, why the government is delaying the results of five remaining people,” he said.
Showkat said that they got in touch with the nodal officer in Baramulla, who didn’t respond to their repeated calls while the officials at Srinagar assured response in two hours but didn’t get back despite repeated attempts. The family members have requested the administration to look into the matter and allow their family members to walk back home before they contract the virus—(KNO)
