Dooru : Wildlife authorities on Tuesday captured a wild black bear in Badarmun village of Dooru in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
Wildlife Warden, south division, Abdul Rouf Zargar told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that the bear was captured by a team of wildlife officials after laying a trap.
“We had been receiving frequent calls from the residents that a wild bear was roaming in the area, following which they had laid a trap five days ago to capture it,” he said.
He said that after strenuous efforts the bear was captured today and would be released in the uppers reaches of the district.
Pertinently, two minors boys aged 2 and 6 years were mauled to death by a Leopard in Korial and Manzgam villages respectively of Damhal Hanjipora in Kulgam district in the last ten days—(KNO)
