Srinagar: A testing lab in Kashmir Valley can start operations within days even if some of its technicians are tested positive for Covid-19 infection.
A technician in a private lab here in Kashmir capital Srinagar was tested positive on June 5; however, the lab was made functional on June 8.
Director Health Kashmir Services, Dr Samir Matoo told news agency KNT that a lab can function normally within days provided it uses disinfectants and fumigate the laboratory.
“There is nothing wrong in it. Even if some technician is tested positive, he can be quarantined, lab can be fumigated and made functional within days,” Matoo added.
One of the employees of the lab in question said that Covid-19 protocol was completely followed and all the employees were screened, tested and found negative.
“The Technician’s neighbour had died in SMHS one day prior and her covid 19 result was reported positive after her death.” (KNT)
