BMJA holds condolence meet over demise of Editor GNS, expresses solidarity with bereaved family

SRINAGAR : A condolence meet was held by Boadcast and Multimedia Journalists Association (BMJA) Kashmir in Srinagar on Tuesday over sad demise of Journalist Tanveer ul Ahad who is Founder and Owner of Kashmir’s prominent Wire News Service Global News Service(GNS).

BMJA Kashmir has expressed grief and anguish over the untimely demise of Tanveer. BMJA while praying for the eternal peace of the departed soul extended solidarity with the bereaved family, friends and relatives.

President BMJA, Irfan Quraishi presided over the condolence meet in Srinagar. While highlighting contributions made by Tanveer in the field of Journalism, Quraishi said that he was a noble soul and dedicated towards his job. “He rose to the cap of editor and founder of prominent news agency GNS from zero without any patronage,” he added.

He futher added that Tanveer used to spend all his hard earned money for this noble job and didn’t compromise with the credibility of Global News Service (GNS) that made it source of information not only for leading local dailies , other media outlet but a credible source of input from Kashmir for many International Publications as well.

The meeting was attended by several members of association including executive members Syed Irfan Qadri, Amin Masoodi, Abrar Bhat, Pirzada Shakir, Farooq Wani.
