Quarantine centres identified in all districts, will be used if needed: Mudgal

Jammu : Amid pandemic, authorities in Jammu region have formulated a backup plan to deadly with the deadly Coronavirus in case the number increases in the division, saying that many quarantine centres have been identified in almost every district of Jammu region.
Quarantine Centres Incharge Jammu, Yasha Mudgal told news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that although the number of positive cases in Jammu division are less than the Valley, the people have to take precautions and follow the government advisories to contain the spread.
“The less positive cases is a good sign but the problem is still out there and we need to be ready to tackle it,” she said, adding that “Every district in Jammu division has identified the places to be used for quarantine centers if needed. The administration is all set to fight Covid-19,” Mudgal said.
“This is our backup plan in case the number of cases will spurt. Those places will be sanitized and used as quarantine centres,” she said, adding that the current status of quarantine centres is dynamic and varies by every passing day.
She said Coronavirus positive cases and people with negative cases are kept in separate quarantine centers besides regular testing is being done to the people with multiple symptoms.
Pertinently, the total number of COVID-19 positive cases in Jammu division is 57 which is far lesser than the Valley. Notably, the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory as mounted to nearly 500 and has left sox patients dead so far.
However, Mudgal denied the allegations leveled by the people kept in quarantine centres, said that the facilities provided at these quarantine centres are quite good.
She said that the administration is doing its best, saying the minor quarries and complaints are addressed immediately. “People are advised to cooperate, she added— (KNO)
