DC B’la Extends Felicitation To Frontline Workers Associated With RDD
Baramulla: Ministry of Panchayati Raj Government of India has conferred Gram Panchayat Development Plan Award (GPDPA)-2020 to Baramulla district for best planning and performance at Gram Panchayat level in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
The district has been conferred this award for effectively implementing intensive and structured exercise for planning to Gram Panchayat Zaloora B of block Tujjar Sharief Panchayat for certain parameters of convergence between Panchayati Raj Institutions and concerned line departments.
While congratulating the role played by Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Institutions, DC Baramulla Dr G N Itoo said that the convergence strategy adopted by the district for effective implementation of different rural development schemes has enabled the district to create sustainable and durable infrastructure in rural areas and strengthened the livelihood resource base for the rural poor through many innovative projects in convergence with many departments.
Extending felicitations to his team of officers especially the frontline workers who are associated with rural development plans, Dr G N Itoo said that this is a major achievement which reflects our commitment and dedication towards grass root level development.
Pertinent to mention, that Union Ministry of Panchayati Raj is incentivizing the best performing Panchayats which have developed their Panchayat Development Plans according to prescribed specific guidelines. The award is given to one Gram Panchayat in every State/UT on the National Panchayati Raj day celebrated on 24th of April every year.
