‘44 suspects test negative, 2 positive: DDC
Kupwara: Covid suspect police officer in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district was tested negative today. The police officer along with other 25 cops were quarantined after the son of the Sub Inspector was tested positive for Covid-19 a couple of days.
A police officer who is also a Nodal Officer for Coronavirus in Kupwara told KNT that 25 cops are in quarantine centre and their tests have been taken.
SSP Kupwara Shri Ram Amnedkar told KNT that Sub Inspector who was quarantined has been tested negative. “No cop is the district has been positive. We had quarantined a group of cops after the son of a police officer was tested positive, but thankfully the test of that officer was found negative,” SSP said.
He added the cops were put in quarantine as a precautionary measure.
Meanwhile, District Development Commissioner Kupwara, Ansul Garg told KNT that 2 more patients were reported positive from Red Zone Anderhama area and both are contacts of earlier positive cases.
He said that 44 other samples of Kupwara have been tested negative today.
“Testing process will be even more aggressive now in Anderhama area to break the chain. I request all to cooperate with field surveillance teams. Home delivery of essential commodities including ration, LPG, vegetables, groceries and cash through Mobile Vans will continue in all Red Zones to avoid any inconvenience to locals,” he added. ( KNT)
