COVID-19 patients under treatment, their health stable in Ladakh’: says Rigzin Samphel

3 cured, results of 15 samples awaited

Srinagar : The authorities in Ladakh Union territory government said that all the positive cases of Covid-19 were under well treatment and that their health condition was stable.
“The health of all the Covid-19 patients is stable. We are giving them all possible treatment” Ladakh UT government spokesman and Commissioner Secretary Rigzin Samphel told Kashmir Indepth News Service (KINS) over phone.
However Samphel appealed all Ladakhis to report their recent foreign travel history with the district authorities, if not done already.
He said under the National Disaster Management Act, the district deputy commissioners were empowered to take stringent action against persons hiding such information.
Meanwhile sources said that the health department has already treated three Covid patients in Ladakh.
Following this, the positive cases had reduced from 13 to 10 as of now in the Union territory of Ladakh.
“The total number of Covid positive cases stands at 10 in the UT. The newly cured patient was identified as an employee of the Health Department who was in contact of the first patient, who had travel history of Iran” sources said.
Sources said that sample results of the patient had tested negative twice and he had been discharged from the hospital. However, the patient was now placed in quarantine and would be allowed to go home after 14 days.
Sources said that Ladakh Health Department had received 17 results on March 25 which were negative for Covid. Results of 15 samples were awaited. (KINS)
