50 quarantine facilities set up

Srinagar: Aspiring doctors from Kashmir in Bangaldesh continue to arrive in Valley.

  District Administration Srinagar Saturday informed that 255 more citizens mostly students arrived back in Srinagar from Bangladesh and other countries.

  They said these passengers have been isolated to undergo quarantine as a preventive measure.

   The administration also informed that 50 well-equipped quarantine facilities have been set up in Srinagar.

   District Development Commissioner Srinagar, Dr Shahid Iqbal Chowdary visited many quarantine centres. He was accompanied by a host of government officials. The administration has established quarantine centres in Srinagar and its peripheries.

   Meanwhile, parents of the students who have been quarantined alleged that there are no proper facilities in these centres. Parents of some students, quarantined at a government building sent photographs on WhatsApp to Kashmir News Trust showing the rooms and bedding in shambles. They said according to World Health Organization the implementation of quarantine implies the use of creation of appropriate facilities in which a person or persons are physically separated from the community while being cared for.
