Met predicts rains in Valley for 2 days

Srinagar: Meteorological Department on Tuesday said light to moderate rainfall or thundershower activity is likely occur in Kashmir Valley this Friday (Feb 28).

   A MeT official told Kashmir News Trust that a barrage of Western Disturbance (WD) has continued to affect Kashmir Valley. A fresh WD is all set to drench Valley on February 28.

  He said the upcoming WD will be active over Valley from Thursday, February 27, onwards. “Under the influence of WD, there may be rainfall on 28th February,” he added.   

   The fresh WD is expected to cause scattered to fairly widespread rainfall over Western Himalayan Region and adjoining plains on Feb 28 and 29 with maximum intensity on 29th. Scattered snowfall is also forecast in the higher altitude regions. (KNT)
