Srinagar: Due to sheer negligence of ANMT Para Medical Council here in North Kashmir’s Kupwara district, hundreds of students have been deprived of their scholarships. Deputy Commissioner Kupwara has taken a serious note of this negligence and will likely initiate action against the management of the institute.
Hundreds of students had applied for the scholarships at Auxiliary Nurse Midwifery Training, J&K Paramedical Council, located in Kupwara. The negligence of the Council can be gauged from this fact, that management neither verified the forms of students nor was able to generate ‘aash code’ on the portal of Ministry for Human Resource Development (MHRD).
“Generation of code is mandatory for obtaining scholarship. But the management failed to generate the code and didn’t even bother to check the scholarship forms of the students,” said the national scholarship Nodal Officer to Kashmir News Trust.
He said that data reveals that management at ANMT has sent only one request vide number 50902 without uploading documents of students. “You are sending request for scholarships but not bothering to upload mandatory documents of students. This is sheer negligence and those who have deprived these students of scholarships should face the music,” the Nodal Officer added.
The MHRD has now rejected the request of ANMT for not pursuing the procedure and rules as a result this year, students won’t get any scholarship.
Deputy Commissioner Kupwra, Ansul Garg told KNT that stern action will be initiated against the ANMT management for depriving students of their scholarships. “I will call the management to ascertain the facts and if I found negligence on part of them, strict action will follow,” he said.
Pertinently, MHRD provides scholarships to deserved students at ANMT but this year the Ministry has rejected the proposal for scholarships as the management at ANMT didn’t upload the documents of the students in time and even failed to generate mandatory code. The Nodal Officer even said that the employees at ANMT have no knowledge about MHRD web portal and don’t know how to operate it. (KNT)
