Srinagar : CRPF has been conducting Bharat Darshan tour for the students of Jammu and Kashmir to familiarize them with the country’s variety-rich landscapes of geography and culture. The students under this program are being sent on educational cum curricular and excursion trip to different parts of the country like Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Trivandrum and other places to facilitate these children to educate themselves on country’s heritage and history and national diversities.
A Group of 47 students and teachers from various parts of Kashmir co-organized by 90 Bn, 53 Bn, and 92 Bn was formally flagged off today at HQs Kashmir Ops Sector CRPF under Bharat Darshan tour by Sh Rajesh Kumar, IPS, IG Kashmir Ops Sector CRPF. During the occasion, Sh Rajesh Kumar interacted with the students and briefed the students about the benefits of the tour. Calling the students as Ambassadors of Kashmir, Sh Rajesh Kumar asked them to use this opportunity, not only as exposure to help in their personality development but also to educate and familiarize the people around them so as to serve as a link between Kashmiris and people in other parts of the Country. Other senior Officers including Sh Aneesh Sirohi, DIG NKOR, CRPF and Sh Dalip Singh Ambesh, DIG Anantnag Range, CRPF and Commandants of 90 Bn, 53 Bn and 92 Bn were also present during the event.
The Group is the 2nd in a series of 4 such exposure trips being organized by CRPF, Kashmir Ops Sector during the current year. The students will visit Mumbai to acquaint themselves with the rich historical and cultural legacy of Mumbai. Belonging to BPL families from rural areas of Kashmir, the students will travel outside their locality for the first time and also experience their maiden air travel. The group will visit various places of importance including Gateway of India, Elephanta Caves, Haji Ali Dargah, Chattarpati Shivaji Museum, Nariman Point, Marne drive, Sanjay Gandhi National Park, Film City, Imagica Water Park etc. A total of around 188 students in the age group of 14-18 years are targeted to be taken out in Bharat Darshan tour in 4 phases.
