Srinagar: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory spokesman Altaf Thakur on Friday paid rich tributes to 40 CRPF personnel who laid their lives in a suicide attack on February 14 last year at Lethpora, Pulwama.
In a statement issued to wire service—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), Thakur said that 40 men sacrificed their lives for the nation and people across the country feel proud of them and stands with their families on the occasion of first anniversary of their martyrdom.
The BJP leader demanded that a martyr’s memorial be built at Lethpora, Pulwama in the memory of 40 brave men whose sacrifice is supreme by all means. Thakur also said that in every village and town, a memorial be built in the memory of fallen “heroes of police, CRPF and the army” so that people of Jammu and Kashmir would assemble on their respective “martyrdom anniversaries” and pay them floral tributes every year.
He said it was because of the supreme sacrifices of security forces personnel today nation’s head is high and every citizen of Jammu and Kashmir and rest of the country is feeling proud. He said BJP’s Kashmir unit pays rich tributes to all 40 brave hearts on their first martyrdom anniversary and expresses full sympathy with their families. (KNO)
