New Delhi : Maha, now a very severe cyclonic storm, formed in the Arabian Sea during the middle of last week has slowly moved in a northwest direction while continuing to strengthen over the last few days.
It has been reported, that the tropical systems will continue to be the cause of wet weather in India through the first full week of November.Indian Naval units in Gujarat are on standby to render assistance sought by civil authorities in anticipation to cyclonic storm ‘Maha’ making landfall on the Gujarat Coastline.
The Western Naval Command has also kept four ships of the Western Fleet loaded with HADR material ready to facilitate assistance as and when required.The Naval authorities in Gujarat are in constant liaison with civil authorities in accordance with SOPs to ensure seamless coordination.
